Call for Special Session Papers
Special Session on Accelerators and FPGA Architectures for Emerging Applications
Recent years have witnessed rapid growth and evolution of emerging applications across diverse fields, including Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles, the Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Devices, Cybersecurity, Advanced Healthcare, Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR), and beyond. Driven by increasing computational demands, stringent latency requirements, and constraints on energy consumption, these domains require novel hardware solutions capable of delivering high performance, adaptability, and energy efficiency. Recent advances in FPGA technologies, reconfigurable computing, and heterogeneous System-on-Chip (SoC) designs have provided promising pathways to address these critical challenges.
In line with the cutting-edge technological trends, This special session invites submissions of original research papers that present novel FPGA architectures, accelerators, hardware-software co-design, optimization methodologies, and novel integration techniques specifically tailored for emerging and critical application areas.
We invite original submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Advanced FPGA architectures and accelerators for robotics, real-time control, and autonomous decision-making
- Reconfigurable computing solutions for autonomous vehicles, sensor fusion, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Edge computing and low-power FPGA solutions for IoT, smart home, and wearable health monitoring applications
- FPGA-based cybersecurity hardware accelerators, including hardware-assisted threat detection and quantum-resistant cryptography
- FPGA acceleration techniques for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications, particularly in rendering, 3D mapping, and immersive interaction
- Energy-efficient reconfigurable architectures leveraging emerging memory technologies (FeRAM, ReRAM, MRAM, FeFET) for real-time adaptive computing
- Methodologies, tools, and automated design frameworks for efficient FPGA and reconfigurable hardware development targeting emerging applications
We encourage submissions demonstrating substantial advantages in performance, energy efficiency, scalability, and adaptability compared to traditional computing paradigms, with clear applications and validation in realistic, demanding scenarios.
For submission, please go to the EasyChair and select FPT’25 Special Session.
